This visit underscores the unwavering commitment to fortify the bonds of friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Germany.
The primary agenda of the visit was to engage in constructive dialogues on various fronts of mutual interest and address the latest developments in the Middle East, alongside regional and international affairs. During his visit, Sheikh Abdullah held meetings with key German officials, including Jens Plötner, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the German Federal Chancellor, and Michael Roth, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag).
Discussions centered on bolstering the already robust friendship relations and comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and Germany. Both parties explored avenues to further develop bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors to advance the shared interests of their nations and citizens.
In a meeting with Dr. Robert Habeck, Vice-Chancellor and German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Sheikh Abdullah delved into the economic ties between the UAE and Germany. The discussions revolved around opportunities to enhance economic collaboration within the framework of the UAE-German comprehensive strategic partnership.
Sheikh Abdullah also addressed pressing regional challenges, including the crisis in the Gaza Strip and its surrounding areas, emphasizing the importance of sustainable ceasefire efforts and urgent humanitarian interventions to alleviate the plight of the Palestinian people. He underscored the UAE’s commitment to collaborating with international partners to mitigate extremism, tension, and violence in the region.
Furthermore, Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the significance of finding a durable political solution to resume negotiations, with a focus on achieving comprehensive peace based on the “two-state solution.” He emphasized the aspirations of the region’s populace for security, stability, development, and prosperity.
As part of his visit, Sheikh Abdullah hosted a reception for Emirati students studying in Germany, as well as Emiratis receiving medical treatment in the country, and German residents who have lived in the UAE.
