U.S. President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of all Israeli hostages still held in Gaza.
“Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies… or it is OVER for you,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He also pledged full support to Israel, stating, “I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job.”
The warning came after Trump met with six former hostages freed during a temporary ceasefire. His statement echoes remarks from Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, who warned Hamas of severe retaliation.
The ceasefire agreement allowing hostage exchanges expired last weekend. The U.S. has pushed for an extension, but Hamas has demanded broader negotiations on Gaza’s governance. In response, Israel has blocked aid to Gaza, drawing criticism from European nations.
The White House confirmed ongoing discussions with Hamas, marking the first direct talks since the group was designated a terrorist organization in 1997. Meanwhile, Trump has suggested a controversial plan for U.S. involvement in Gaza’s post-war administration, a proposal critics argue would displace Palestinian residents.
Currently, 24 living hostages and the remains of 35 others remain in Gaza.
