According to an internal memo reported by Reuters now Trump administration is considering new travel restrictions on citizens from 41 countries. It would impose different levels of restrictions based on each country’s compliance with U.S. security measures.
A U.S. official, speaking anonymously stated that the list is still under review and could change before final approval by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
During his first term, Trump imposed a travel ban on seven predominantly Muslim countries, which was later overturned by former President Biden. Now, the administration is revisiting strict immigration policies with a focus on security concerns.
On January 20, Trump also signed an executive order strengthening security checks for foreign nationals seeking entry into the U.S.
The memo divides the 41 affected countries into three categories:

| Partial Visa Suspension (Tourist, student, and some other visa types affected) | Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, South Sudan |
| Possible Suspension (Countries must fix issues or face restrictions) | Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Belarus, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Pakistan, Republic of the Congo, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, East Timor, Turkmenistan, Vanuatu |
According to U.S. Officials, the policy is important to secure the U.S. and deal with visa compliance issues. The administration has not provided a timeline for finalizing the ban. Stay connected for updates!
