‘Stranger Things’ actor Dacre Montgomery debuts as Director in ‘The Engagement Party’ – Full Cast and Details Here

Australian actor Dacre Montgomery known for popular titles ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Elvis’, ‘Power Rangers’ and others is hyphenating his profile by taking the director chair for his upcoming feature ‘The Engagement Party’. The movie is gaining attention with the shoot planned for later this year, Deadline Reports

Dacre Montgomery’s feature plot is briefed as, “On a beautiful, secluded island, amidst the golden rays and ocean breeze of a stunning beach house, two couples reunite to celebrate a momentous occasion. Until a conflicting memory arises which threatens to tear their relationships apart. With each wave crashing against the shore, the line between memory and manipulation blurs, forcing them to confront a question they’ve tried to forget: What really happened that night?”. 

‘The Engagement Party’ will have Dacre Montgomery taking on an acting role as well along with actors Lily Sullivan, Abbey Lee and Arlo Green in the lead roles. Sullivan was known for her titled ‘Monolith’ and ‘The Evil Dead Rise’ joins her fellow Australian actor Abbey Lee is for her role as The Dag in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ is also roped in for a prominent role. Arlo Green joins as the New Zealand cast known for ‘M3GAN’ will also be seen in the flick. 

The Australia- New Zealand production is bankrolled by Nick Batzias and Virginia Whitwell for GoodThing Productions along with Ian Booth and Nash Edgerton. Montgomery will have writer Jory Anast as screenwriter who worked with Dacre in ‘Went Up the Hill’. 

‘The Engagement Party’ is described by the producers as a “It’s a bold and unique exploration of trauma, love, friendship and consent.” The movie also received strong promises from Dacre Montgomery as an “extremely important and timely message”.
