Singer Cassie And Bad Boy Records’ Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Settle Abuse Lawsuit ‘Amicably’

Sean “Diddy” Combs, a hip-hop icon and the founder of Bad Boy Records, and singer Casandra Ventura, known as Cassie, said on Friday they have settled a lawsuit containing allegations of serial physical abuse, sexual slavery and rape by the music producer.

The settlement, one day after the lawsuit was filed, was announced in a release sent by attorney Douglas Wigdor, representing Cassie. In his statement, Wigdor commended the singer for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit.

Cassie Allegedly Was Offered “Eight Figures To Silence Her”

In a statement issued late on Thursday, Benjamin Brafman, the high-profile New York lawyer representing Combs, said his client “vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” accusing Cassie of trying to blackmail Combs.

Brafman said the singer resorted to filing a lawsuit after a failed attempt to blackmail Combs into paying her $30 million by threatening to write a book. Meanwhile, a lawyer for Ventura told the New York Times she was offered “eight figures to silence her,” which she rejected.

Cassie and Combs met around 2005 when she was 19 and he was 37. Combs, more widely known by his stage names Puff Daddy, P Diddy or Diddy, signed Ventura to his Bad Boy Records label with a 10-album deal. They dated for more than 10 years.

Cassie Forced To “Engage In Sex Acts With Male Sex Workers”

Cassie alleges that over the course of their relationship, Combs controlled every aspect of her life, the NYT first reported on Thursday. According to the lawsuit, she faced “a cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking” until their relationship ended in 2018.

The suit further noted that Combs was allegedly prone to “uncontrollable rage” and compelled the singer to regularly “engage in sex acts with male sex workers” that he photographed and filmed. She was given drugs before and during, it added.
