Sean Diddy Combs Verdict Breaks the Internet: Guilty of 2 charges out of 3

While every detail from the lengthy Sean Diddy Combs trial was discussed online, the verdict is making waves for coercive intimate partner violence and he was given jail time for two lesser charges. Diddy denied bail in the long awaited verdict where he was found guilty for transportation to engage in prostitution and lesser conviction and not guilty for sex trafficking and racketeering.

The trial that lasted for more than seven weeks has now led to Diddy given 20 years in Jail for lesser conviction and the public is appalled by the verdict. The final decision on the start of Diddy’s sentence will be happening next week. The case which had two prominent victims – Diddy’s Ex Cassie Ventura and another ‘Jane’ where the two women were found used and compelled to comply in sexual acts.

Cassie Ventura’s domestic violence case had solid evidence of the infamous hotel room footage where the music mogul is seen attacking her and dragging her after a heated argument and Cassie trying to leave the hotel. While the truth was laid in plain sight and many disturbing pictures surfaced online after the police raid in Diddy’s places, his lawyers argued that the sexual acts were consensual and the women agreed to it.

The jury found Diddy to be guilty of two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution while the other serious charges of sex trafficking or racketeering were munched on by the Jury. The prosecutors termed Diddy’s charges and acts as a “criminal enterprise” while the overlook of domestic violence brings in doubts and questions.

The public understanding of domestic violence and the Jury’s is filled with gaps and tolerance of how the act is performed and the behaviour obtained to be performed for a long period and terms of consent and coercion between intimate partners.

The botched and somewhat alarming verdict brings in questions of coercion by people in power and situations of professional or intimate relationship where the act of violence even caught on camera can be overlooked with the type of relationship. This can be seen as a good day for many such perpetrators who are given lesser sentences, thus raising doubts by the general public.
