samuel l jackson eva green star in the thriller just play dead cannes market sales awaits
‘Just Play Dead’ from the director of ‘Runaway Jury’, ‘Homefront’ will have Samuel L Jackson, Eva Green and Maria Pedraza. Filmmaker Gary Fledar has joined writer Dan Gordon known for penning ‘Rambo: Last Blood’ among others for a thriller.
Samuel L. Jackson plays a wealthy criminal mastermind named Jack Wolfe who in the face of legal and criminal trouble tries to fake his own death and claim his 30 Million Life Insurance with his wife Nora, played by Eva Green with her surfer lover Chad is sketched to be thrown under the bus. While this plan seems to be bold, Nora has another plan that will have Wolfe dead for real and Chad behind the bars and Nora left with Millions to claim. What unravels in these deadly master planners and the money sets for the plot.
“I’ve always been drawn to stories that defy categorization, that live somewhere between genres and challenge audiences to stay on their toes,” said Gary Fledar, reports Variety. With an impressive cast and crew and a terrific writer in Gordon, the director is pumped for an exciting project. Flendar further added “I have the chance to return to that same rich, unpredictable territory. This film is provocative, sexy, and original—a perfect mix of clever storytelling and thrilling twists.”
While Samuel L. Jackson is no stranger to such kingpin grey characters, seeing him fight for his own wealth along with his wife Nora, played by Green who has also been a part of several high action films including the Bond movie ‘Casino Royale’ will be an ultimate power struggle. ‘Money Heist’ actress Maria Perdaza will certainly bring in the energy and spice to the thriller plot.
Highland Film Groups will be taking care of Executive Production and sales globally and in Cannes Festival while the movie is spearheaded by Phil Junt of Head Gear Films; Valentine Dimitrov of Gemstone Films; Sagiv Diamant, Gaby Whyte Hart.
