Robert De Niro and Jenna Ortega cast in ‘Shutout’ – A Pool Hustler Movie under RK Films

David O. Russell to helm ‘Shutout’, a pool hustler movie starring Robert De Niro and Jenna Ortega in the prominent roles who are ready to take the gamble. The iconic star and the breakout trendsetter are joining in for a unique script and we have the details. 

The plot of ‘Shutout’ reads, ‘Jake Kejeune (De Niro), one of the last masters of a vanishing craft — the pool hustler. Having lived and lost by the roll of a ball in smoky backroom halls, Jake encounters Mia (Ortega), a young prodigy whose raw, electrifying talent reignites a fire he thought long extinguished. Sensing a rare opportunity to shape a legend, Jake takes Mia under his wing, honing her instincts and sharpening her natural gift. Together, they plunge into the ruthless world of high-stakes pool, where the line between unimaginable fortune and devastating failure is razor-thin. As Mia’s star ascends and her ambition grows, Jake must confront the ultimate question: can he steer her to greatness, or will her hunger for victory eclipse everything he has taught her?’, reports the Deadline Exclusive

Alejandro Adams is writing the screenplay while the ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ filmmaker is collaborating with De Niro for the second time while Jenna Ortega is a fresh addition to the crew. The young actress is best known for her role as Wednesday Addams in ‘Wednesday’ and ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ among other exciting filmography. 

Producers of ‘Maleficent’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, RK Films are bankrilling the film that is truly a refreshing concept and collaboration. The movie is already on its global presales and for the Cannes road, taken care by Black Bear while the filming and rest of the crew are yet to be revealed.
