Rafael Nadal Announces Retirement: Are We Ready to Say Goodbye at the Davis Cup Final?

Professional tennis star Rafael Nadal announced his retirement from professional tennis.  In a video message posted on his official X handle, he said that he will retire after the Davis Cup final in November. So his last appearance on the ground will be at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.

In the video, he said, “I am here to let you know I am retiring from professional tennis. The reality is that it has been some difficult years, the last two especially. I don’t think I have been able to play without limitations.”

“It is obviously a difficult decision, one that has taken me some time to make. But in this life everything has a beginning and an end.”

This 38-year-old Spaniard Rafael Nadal leaves behind a legacy of dominance in tennis history. The moment when he decided to end his career, he owed 92 grand titles and prize money of word $135 million. Gulf News cited this data.

In the list of titles, there are 14 titles of the French Open, and 22 grand slam singles titles, US Open, Wimbledon, and Davis Open Cups.

Rafael dominated the French open, he won his first 1st titles of Frech open at a young age of 19-20 in year 2005 and his last won in French open was in year 2022, this made him the oldest champion of the title. According to the data by Gulf news, On the famous crushed brick of Roland Garros, he lost just three times in 115 matches.

He secured 4 times champion position at the US open and also won 2 times in Australian open. At Wimbledon he won twice in year 2008 and 2010. He won 5 Davis Cup in his career, in 2004 Spain secured the title of Davis cup because of Nadal.

At the end of the video he thanked all his fans and supporters. He said, “I feel super, super lucky for all the things I’ve been able to experience. I want to thank the entire tennis industry.
