PSG vs Dortmund match – Champions League Semi-final

Borussia Dortmund won against PSG in the second leg of their Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday. Borussia Dortmund won this match 1-0.

Dortmund shared several pictures which are trending all over the internet:

Mats Hummels’ second-half header led the German team to  2–0. The Final of this league is on June 1. BVB will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the finals.

In the second leg, PSG almost scored five goals but hit the post four times and couldn’t score any goals. This comes as Kylian Mbappe is likely to leave PSG soon and join Real Madrid in the summer.

Dortmund defender came in the motion with efforts during the second half. In the 50th minute German footballer golaed and that was enough to secure his team and make a win. Mbappe final appearance could be in this match semi-final at the Parc des Princes in a Champions League game in PSG colors with a move to Real Madrid on the cards.

It was magic on the field, no one thought Dortmund would go this far and secure a place in the final.

Edin Terzic the Manager of Borussia Dortmund said, “The belief in the final was already there early on,”

“We’ve grown with every match. At some point, we beat Milan, who were in the semi-final last year.”

A look at 1^st Leg….

A score of 1-0 for the second consecutive round after the first leg, is still a shock for fans.

Barcelona lost after the League 1 champions turned around a 3-2 home defeat. Now, PSG needs to do the same but in reverse, with just a one-goal deficit to overcome at home. This should theoretically be easier for Paris to achieve. Fullkrug’s goal in the 36th minute in Dortmund was crucial in the first leg. Now, PSG could generate opportunities as they did in Germany, but this time, they need to do it.

Though the opening by Terzic was good the result was that just one shot on target. Luis Enrique doing much better now than he was before. From Ligue 1 PSG failed to score at Parc des Princes.

Insights of Team Dortmund….

With the leadership of Jurgen Klopp in year 2012-13 team for Terzic first time in finals with a big score of 5-4. By winning the first leg Dortmund automatically qualified for the Champions League. If they progress more they can emulate the feat of 1996–97. In group F the BVB is ahead of  PSG. Milan dropping into the UEFA Europa League and Newcastle United going out.

In the last 7 matches, the Germans have won just two with PSG. In 2019-20 they were in round 16 but now they have an unbeaten home run to 11 UCL games with the win of last week.

While Dortmund is not looking for the finals the PSG missed the opportunity.  PSG missed the opportunity for their star man Mbappe. Mbappé was one of four PSG players to hit the woodwork in the second half. Manager Luis Enrique complained that the team had been “unlucky”.

Last week’s defeat ended Paris’s 15-match unbeaten streak in all competitions for PSG. Though PSG can comeback their power still makes them favorites, but only a goal from Dortmund could be fatal.
