Phil Dunster, Corey Mylchreest & Emilia Schüle roped in for ‘Blake & Mortimer: The Yellow M’ adaptation

The infamous French graphic sci- fi novel ‘The Yellow M’ is now booked for adaptation into a screenplay starring Phil Dunster, Corey Mylchreest and Emilia Schüle. The sixth novel by Belgian artist Edgar P. Jacobs is a huge hit among comic readers selling millions of copies worldwide.

While the plot and the story is publicly known, the official gist is, “Europe, 1941. Nazi Germany develops the Omega Wave: a dangerous mind-control weapon capable of bending human will. MI5 Captain Blake and physicist Mortimer join forces to destroy it. The lab goes up in flames and the weapon is lost… or so they believe. Twelve years later, in 1953 London, a string of unexplained deaths grips the city. A shadowy figure known as “M” surfaces, armed with the Omega Wave. With the Queen’s coronation days away, Blake and Mortimer, two old friends, reunite on a deadly mission.”, briefs Deadline

The movie will be helmed by French Director Cédric Nicolas-Troyan, an Academy Award Nominee for ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, the director will make the Live Action movie in English with the the two titular characters – Blake and Mortimer played by British actors Phil Dunster and Corey Mylchreest. Both the actors are known for their popular roles and are established among the OTT crowd while actress Emilia Schüle is known for her role in the BBC series ‘Marie Antoinette’ playing the Queen of France.

The filming is planned to go on floors from September 2025 while Mister Smith Entertainment has already begun sales internationally and at Cannes. The French- Belgium- UK production is planned to be shot primarily in the UK and Belgium, hoping to capture the shades of periodic landscapes.

Director Cédric Nicolas-Troyan will also be penning the screenplay along with the talented French director Jon Kounen of ‘Doberman’ and ‘Blueberry’ fame. This perfect blend of adventure, sci- fi, thriller will also hopefully reflect the cool graphic art of the novels, giving an organic touch for the readers and viewers to relate to.
