Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris has reopened five years after a massive fire. The fire had caused damage to the 850-year-old landmark of Paris. The restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral completed through with support of $800 million global fundraising campaign. Now when it is opened, the glory if back!
On April 15, 2019 due to electrical faults fire broke out at Notre-Dame. It destroyed the roof and collapsed the famous spire.The bell towers and main structure were left. Over 400 firefighters worked over 15 hours to control the fire.
After this accident, French President Emmanuel Macron promised to rebuild the cathedral within five years. The project to reopen the historic place used 2,000 oak trees for the roof, restored ancient paintings, and added a modern fire prevention system.
Notre-Dame has been an important part of French history and culture. The construction of this place began in 1163. It holds a big history like coronation ceremony of Napoleon Bonaparte happened here. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
