Must-Try Street Foods in Bangkok Night Markets

Bangkok is famous for many good reasons, not only for  temples and beautiful clean rivers but also for its always lively night markets. And trust me these markets are a treasure trove for those who love food more than anything else, offering a variety of dishes that are full of flavor and affordable. If you  visit Bangkok, trying these street foods is a must.

1. Pad Thai

If you are a noodle fan, this stir-fried noodle dish, you are going to love it because it’s one of Thailand’s most famous foods. Made with rice noodles with shrimp or tofu, egg and bean sprouts, it’s beautifully flavored with tamarind with fish sauce and sugar. A little lime with some crushed peanuts make it perfect.

2. Som Tum (Green Papaya Salad)

A popular dish Som Tum is a spicy, tangy salad made from shredded green papaya with tomatoes, peanuts along with chilies. It’s quite refreshing, full of flavors, and pairs well with sticky rice.

3. Kanom Krok (Coconut Pancakes)

Talk about Kanom Krok, it’s a small coconut rice pancake. It feels crispy from the outside and soft inside, they are a little sweet and mostly topped with corn or green onions.

4. Roti

Thai-style roti is a thin, crispy pancake which blends with everything. But vendors often fill it with banana, chocolate and condensed milk for a sweet treat which is easy to eat while walking.

5. Grilled Skewers

For non-veg lovers from chicken satay to pork skewers, these grilled meats are marinated in spices and served with a spicy or peanut sauce.

Bangkok’s night life and always being alive markets are more than a place to eat, they are an experience. While enjoying vibrant stalls, smelling the spices, and tasting local foods and flavors is a memory.
