breaking news mount ibu erupts in indonesia, ash and lava sent skyward
On Saturday eve a volcano of eastern Indonesia Mount Ibu erupted. After this eruption hot lava and thick smoke high into the sky. The eruption took place at 7:45 pm local time. AFter this big eruption a massive ash cloud rise and spread over four kilometers above the crater. The lava spread up to two kilometers away from the center of volcano.
Geological officials have raised the alert level, keeping Mount Ibu on the second-highest alert. This was not the first eruption from Ibu. Last year the volcano erupted more than 2,000 times. Ibu is the most active volcano in Indonesia.
While there is no evacuation orders have been given to residents and visitors. But it will be safer if people living within 4 to 5.5 kilometers of the volcano leave the area. Wear face masks and protective goggles to avoid ash fallout. And Stay alert!
Mount Ibu is located at Halmahera island. It is the home to more than 700,000 people. Local authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
