Marvel Fans React as Chris Evans Confirms “Happily Retired” and Anthony Mackie Steps In as Captain America
Fans couldn’t help but hope for an encore even after Evans confirmed his retirement as Steve Rogers as Captain America. Unfortunately, Evans has now put an end to the rumours that he would make a comeback in Avengers: Doomsday, a new movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which broke fan’s hearts.
Speaking to Esquire magazine, he said, “That’s not true, though. This always happens. I mean, it happens every couple years – ever since Endgame. I’ve just stopped responding to it. Yeah, no – happily retired!”
Fans on social media are going crazy about his confirmation of retirement and no return in “Avengers: Doomsday”. One post on X stated that “Hope Chris Evans is lying to us and is coming back to Marvel.” and another stated, “There is no Captain America without Chris Evans.”
It is officially announced that Anthony Mackie will take over the Captain America role from Chris Evans for the upcoming Marvel Movies. The information triggered Marvel fans all around the social media where everyone started comparing the two.
