US President Donald Trump signed several executive orders on Day 1 of his office. Here is a short list:
- Withdrew the US from the Paris climate deal.
- Trump is also pulling the US out of the WHO.
- Declared that the federal government will recognise only two genders (male and female).
- Trump has designated drug cartels as foreign terrorist organisations.
- Issued pardons for 1,500 people convicted or criminally charged in the Jan. 6 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
- He closed federal cases against various supporters.
- Declared a national emergency on the US-Mexico border and he plans to send U.S. troops to help support immigration agents.
- Moved to change birthright citizenship.
- Paused Congress’ TikTok ban for 75 days.
- Ordered a comprehensive review of US foreign aid spending.
- Halted federal hiring, except for the military and unspecified areas of government.
- Signed an executive order requiring federal workers to return to office full-time.
