Lily -Rose Depp and Jacob Elordi to star in ‘Outer Dark’ – Adaptation of ‘No Country For Old Men’

Two of Hollywood’s busiest and sought after actors – Lily-Rose Depp and Jacob Elordi are pairing up for a project ‘Outer Dark’ , announces a Deadline Exclusive gathered from Cannes. The duo will be seen leading the dark thriller adaptation of a popular 1968 novel by Cormac McCarthy’s ‘No Country for Old Men’.

The movie is of a ‘Dark- Fairytale’ blended genre, something not strange for both the actors who have delivered their recent critically acclaimed performances by playing dark and layered roles. ‘Outer Dark’ will be directed by Laszlo Nemes, the director of ‘Son of Saul’ which won the Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film.

‘Set in Appalachia during the Great Depression and tells of a young woman who bears her brother’s baby. The brother leaves the nameless infant in the woods to die, but tells his sister that the newborn died of natural causes and had to be buried. The sister discovers this lie and sets out to find the baby for herself. But as both brother and sister separately move through the countryside, three terrifying strangers are on their tails, wreaking death and destruction wherever they appear’, ‘Outer Dark’ synopsis reads as reported by Deadline. Lily -Rose Depp and Jacob Elordi to star in ‘Outer Dark’ – Adaptation of ‘No Country For Old Men’

The Hungarian director co-wrote the screenplay with the talented French writer Clara Royer who collaborated with Nemes on ‘Son of Saul’ and ‘Sunset’. Lily-Rose Depp was praised for her performance in the award winning ‘Nosferatu’, playing a hauntingly layered character while Elordi is hooked on Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ playing the creature. Elordi will also be featured in another adaptation playing Heathcliff in ‘Wuthering Heights’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘Dog Stars’.
