lewis capaldi surprise glastonbury google message
Lewis Capaldi, the soulful Scottish singer was welcomed by thousands of fans on his comeback performance at the Glastonbury Festival. The performance was surprising although there were rumours surrounding his return to the festival after a long break.
Capaldi took a two year long break to focus on his mental health and what a warm welcome the star singer got as his name popped on the large screens. The singer was seen quite emotional in his comeback performance, he took a minute to see the sea of fans excited for his performance and started his lineup with a peace out sign.
Some of Capaldi’s hits like ‘Grace’ and ‘Someone You Loved’ made the fans scream their hearts out along with the singer who was moved with the response he got. Instant flashback to when the actor struggled to finish the hit song ‘Someone You Loved’ during one of his last performances in 2023 where the attendees took off, leaving Capaldi in tears.
Recalling that phenomenal incident, Capaldi said, “I couldn’t sing this song two years ago. I might struggle to finish it today for different reasons”, clearly tearing up. “My name is Lewis Capaldi and I’m [expletive] back, baby”, he said to the roaring of the fans.
Google, which adds a special feature to certain pages or personalities when typed in the search result, had a touching message to Lewis Capaldi’s return. With two hearts, the Google animation read, “❤️ Welcome back Lewis – Someone we love ❤️”.
The festival is very close to Capaldi as the talented singer has tourette’s syndrome and during his set in 2023 at the Glastonbury Festival, he struggled to complete the song, only for his ardent fans to take over the concert and finish it for him. That was his last performance. “It’s just a short set today but I just wanted to come and finish what I couldn’t finish the first time around. Second time’s a charm on this one, everybody”, he said on Friday.
