Leones del Escogido Win 2025 Caribbean Series Championship

The 2025 Caribbean Series final was held in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, on Friday night. The championship game featured the Dominican Republic’s Leones del Escogido against Mexico’s Charros de Jalisco.

Mexico entered the game undefeated but fell short as the Dominican Republic claimed a narrow 1-0 victory.

The ninth inning brought high drama. The Dominican Republic thought they had secured the final out, but a mistake at third base kept Mexico’s hopes alive. The Mexican runner reached the base before the fielder, giving the home team another chance. However, they failed to score, ending their title hopes.

Dominican pitcher Esmil Rogers was outstanding, shutting down Mexico’s offense.

Benjamin Gil the manager of Mexico said “We are executing well in all areas, but we know we haven’t won anything yet”.
