On January 3, 2025 Jeff Baena was found at his home in Los Angeles. According the initial reports it is a case of suicide. A report by TMZ confirms that the death is because of sucide.
After graduating from New York University’s Film School Baena began his career as a production assistant for Robert Zemeckis and later worked as an editor for David O. Russell. He co-wrote the screenplay for the 2004 black comedy I Heart Huckabees before stepping into directing.
In year of 2014 Baena made his official debut. His debut was with the zombie comedy Life After Beth, which starred Plaza. Other notable films like Joshy, The Little Hours, Horse Girl, and Spin Me Round were directed by him.
