How to Secure Tickets for Starkbierfest 2026 Across All Major Munich Venues

Summary:
Starkbierfest 2026 runs March-April in Munich venues like Paulaner Nockherberg. Buy table reservations online (€19.50/person), get beer tokens. Single tickets at the door. Plan early!

Starkbierfest is Munich’s festive beer festival featuring strong beers (over 7% ABV) made exclusively from malt and hops. It is held each year after Lent between mid-March and early April in famous locations such as Paulaner am Nockherberg, AiglHarryttPLKeller, and Löwenbräukeller. Unlike Oktoberfest with its extravagant tents, Starkbierfest will have more energetic activities, but the overall ambience will be more relaxed and comfortable.

Key Venues in 2026

Big venues are Paulaner Nockherberg (primary venue, about March 1), Augustiner-Keller, and Löwenbräukeller. Paulaner has the original, but will have tables for at least 10 people. The other two have similar strong beers on tap and also offer live entertainment weekly. Check the exact 2026 event dates on their websites after Carnival has passed.

Ticket Types and Prices

Bundles of tickets (approximately €3.60 each), booking costs (approximately €1 each), and a beer token with the equivalent value of approximately (€14.90) are available to be purchased from Paulaner Nockherberg’s website and at the official Starkbierfest website. Reservations can be made for tables of 10 people at Paulaner Nockherberg for €195 (or €19.50 per person); reservations for singles are €19.50 at the door (subject to availability). The approximate prices for beer are as follows: Augustiner: €8.50-€9.50; Löwenbräu: €5 for singles and €30-€40 for tables. It is possible that prices will increase slightly in 2026.

How to Buy Tickets Online

Reserve a table before they’re gone at paulaner-nockherberg.com using your local TicketSwap channels for resale options. Also consider Löwenbräukeller who sells tickets from its website. Tickets will be sent via email; bring along printed version(s) to mark your ID and exchange for your tokens when entering the venue. There are no refunds; tickets are only valid on the date that you originally booked.

How to Book:

  • Select date/time (Mon-Thu 15-min grace; Fri-Sat 30-min).
  • Pay for the total group of 10 or the ticket(s) available as singles.
  • E-tickets can only be shown to the gate (under your name) by 9 PM.

Door Purchases and Tips

Single tickets available at box offices (~€19.50), but expect queues—no seat guarantee. Arrive early (noon opens) for non-reserved spots. Groups: Pre-book tables. Tokens for 1L beer only; redeem same day. Dress casually; under-16s need guardians.

Avoid Common Pitfalls

Reservations expire if late; forward e-tickets to late arrivals. Tokens are non-exchangeable post-fest. Fridays/Saturdays are busiest—book weekends ahead. Public transport advised; U-Bahn to Candidplatz for Paulaner.
