Group Stage Battles

The Italian sensation begins his campaign on Sunday evening against tournament debutant Alex de Minaur, whom he described as a tough nut to crack with great speed and mentality. Sinner pays tribute to the Australian’s fighting spirit but adds that every point has to be beaten out of a player like this.

More tests are expected in his group, especially against Daniil Medvedev who Sinner said aided him develop his game, and the power serving and improving returnee, Taylor Fritz. The matches will be very competitive because any player will be at his/her best to try to qualify for the knockout stage.

Path to Victory

Depending on the outcome of the group, the tournament could offer a fantastic matchup between Sinner and 4-time Major winner Carlos Alcaraz in the eliminations round. The Italian has won his last two races and has the bonus of a home track advantage, making him a prime candidate for the title.

The atmosphere in the Inalpi Arena is intense and this is another bonus for Sinner in his endeavor to take advantage of the home fans in Italy. The young talented player now wants to start making his mark on home-soil best Tennis.
