Harris and Trump Get Ready for Big Debate in September

Last updated on September 10th, 2024 at 08:02 am

Something really big is going to take place in a few days on September 10th. There is going to be this great debate between Vice President, Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump. It is huge, considering this will mark the first time the two speak to each other face-to-face since the Democrats changed their plans. Well, you see, President Biden decided not to run for president again, and he told everybody that Harris was the forefront candidate in his place.

How Trump is Getting Ready

Thus far, Trump has tried many ways in which to speak about Harris, but somehow he still finds the way too hard. He has tried calling her mean names, not nice at all; he has also said she doesn’t speak to reporters enough-in itself-a problem. Another thing he has done is laying the blame on Harris and President Biden for high store prices and other money problems that people are experiencing. He also keeps referring to something in Afghanistan in 2021.

Harris’s New Strategy

Harris heads into the debate having done things a little bit different. She has moderated some of those former views to bring them more center. That is to say, she is not being quite so radical in some of those views. During a recent television interview, she mentioned her fundamental values remain the same but some specific ideas have shifted a little. She’s also going to have a big speech in New Hampshire soon. In that speech, she’s going to talk about my plans for helping the economy; that is all the stuff about jobs and money in the country. Then, one of my big ideas is to help small businesses.

What They’re Doing This Week

This week, Harris and Trump are taking different approaches to get ready. Harris is taking a little timeout from the busy schedule of attending back-to-back events. She would like to gear up and focus her attention on how she will prepare for the debate. All the same, she’s doing some key things. Among them, she visited several states that tend to vote Democrats and spoke with workers. But her running mate, Tim Walz, who’s running for vice president with her, went to Wisconsin to talk with people there. And President Biden-who isn’t running for president again-appeared at a major rally with Harris in Pittsburgh to demonstrate that he has her back.
