‘Hamas makes Al Qaeda look pure’: US President Biden

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has said that Palestinian militant group Hamas is worse than Al-Qaeda, who conducted various terrorist acts across the world.

Joe Biden talked about Al-Qaeda and Hamas in Philadelphia. Biden said, “The more we learn about the attack (Hamas-Israel war), the more horrifying it becomes. More than 1,000 innocent lives lost, including at least 27 Americans.”

Biden further slammed the Hamas group. Biden said, “Hamas makes al-Qaeda look pure. They’re pure evil. The United States stands with Israel.”

The United States has repeatedly expressed its support to Israel amid the Hamas-Israel war. The United States has already designated Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Israel-Hamas conflict

Israel-Hamas conflict started on 7 October 2023. The war between Israelis and Palestinian militant group Hamas led to the killing of more than 3200 people. Israel formally declared war on Hamas on 8 October 2023.

The United Nations has described the situation in the Gaza Strip as a matter of “life and death.” The United Nations has also warned of increasing risks of waterborne diseases in the Gaza Strip.

Violence increased in Israel and The Gaza

The ongoing conflict between Israelis and Hamas militant group has increased violence in The Gaza Strip and Israel. Hamas has kidnapped Israelis, including women and children. Israeli forces launched an attack on people in The Gaza Strip.

At least 27 American citizens have also died because of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. However, Biden did not blame Palestinians for the conflict between Israelis and Hamas. Biden said, “We can’t lose sight of the fact that the overwhelming majority of Palestinians had nothing to do with Hamas and Hamas’ appalling attacks.”

Recently, Biden also made shocking claims. Biden said that he saw “confirmed pictures of Hamas terrorists beheading children”, slamming the ongoing war. Later on, a White House spokesperson said that Biden’s statement was only based on the claims from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesman.

Amid the conflict, Hamas militants have also kidnapped various civilians, including women and children. They were taken hostage by the Hamas militants.
