General Hospital is a famous American daytime television soap opera. General Hospital also holds the Guinness World Record for being the longest running soap opera that is currently in production. Worldwide, General Hospital ranks as the third longest running scripted drama series still in production. GH is also the second longest running soap opera around the globe that is still airing. This soap opera was created by Frank Hursely and Doris Hursely. The show was originally set in a hospital in an unnamed fictional city.Currently, it is speculated that the show’s famous character Lucky Spencer will mark his comeback on the show.

Jonathan Jackson Will Mark his comeback in General Hospital

General Hospital ABC’s most popular soap opera is all set for new exciting seasons. It was also revealed that the famous actor Jonathan Jackson will be marking his comeback to Port Charles, reprising the most popular character he portrayed in the 1990s. Jonathan Jackon will be back on the sets of General Hospital to portray the character of Lucky Spencer, which he last played nearly a decade ago. However, the date of his comeback is not yet announced. The return of Lucky Spencer on General Hospital was hinted by Frank Velentini, executive producer of GH, during the Daytime Emmy Awards 2024, teasing the comeback of a former cast member.

When is Spencer coming back to General Hospital?

Lucky Spencer’s comeback on the show is expected to be more long-term as compared to the character’s appearance in 2015. Although the official date for the comeback of Lucky Spencer in GH is not revealed by the network. Fans are very excited to watch Lucky Spencer and can expect his reunion with the on-screen mom Genie Francis Laura and the revival of his on-and-off love story with Rebecca Herbst’s Liz. Jonathan Jackson, actor and musician, shared his excitement with his fans about returning soap opera General Hospital through a video posted on his Instagram account handle. The actor, while sharing the video, captioned, “I am coming back to the general hospital this summer! Excited for this journey.” The actor also thanks his fans for their continued support and love, because of which Lucky Spencer gained immense popularity.

In addition to Jonathan Jackson, General Hospital’s other veteran actors are also expected to mark their comebacks. Bryan Craig is confirmed to reprise his role as Morgan Corinthos, although reportedly only for a day in August, according to sources.

In 1993, when Jonathan Jackon was 11 years old, he portrayed the character of Lucky Spencer. Lucky Spencer was the eldest son of Luke Spencer portrayed by Anthony Geary and Laura Spencer played by Genie Francis. Jonathan Jackson has won five Emmy awards for portraying the role of Lucky Spencer. Until 1999, he was a regular on the show. Jonathan Jackson was replaced by Jacob Young and later by Greg Vaughan, who continued in the role until 2009. After a brief return to General Hospital for two more years, Jackson finally left the show in 2015. Throughout his time as Lucky, he received nine Emmy nominations for his performance.
