fire broke out
A family of five was displaced this morning after a house fire on Constable Lane in northeast Richland County, according to the Columbia-Richland Fire Department (RCFD).
Around 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames at the front of the home.
Crews entered the house, facing thick smoke and high heat.
The fire was found in the kitchen and quickly put out, RCFD reported.
The Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating the cause of the fire. According to fire officials, “the house was empty at the time of the fire and no people were injured during the incident. However, the house suffered fire damage and extensive smoke damages.”
