“Find” me the votes: Trump stoops to new level of desperation as he calls Georgia’s Secretary of State to tilt elections

Trump stoops to new level: The latest revelation showcases a desperate Donald Trump who is willing to cross any limit and willing to say anything to tilt the 2020 election results in his favor. But in the process one can also witness a few officials who are denying to support all his tantrums and stand by democracy instead. The fact that these officials are blatantly refusing to come over to Trump’s side are highlighting his corrupt and illegal means of presidency even more.

The audio recording of Trump calling Georgia election officials which was first reported by the Washington Post and obtained by CNN, showcases a United States President sounding like a dictator. In the audio clip Trump is heard springing from bullying to flattering and to frantically and desperately trying to convince the officials to close in the deal in his favor.

The hour-long call on Saturday to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, President Trump can be seen pressing him to overturn Democratic Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election. The call was recorded by Raffensperger’s office. Raffensperger has said to have told his advisers to hold on to the recording or its transcript unless Trump tried to attack or misrepresent the call. On Sunday morning Trump tweeted directly attacking the Republican official. He took on Twitter “…he was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ballots under table scam, ballot destruction, out of state voters, dead voters, and more, He has no clue!”

To this, Brad Raffensperger replied through a cryptic tweet, “Respectfully, President Trump: What you’re saying is not true. The truth will come out.” Soon after the audio recording was released.

In one part of call recording, Trump is heard saying, “The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry. And there’s nothing wrong with saying that, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.” Raffensperger responed, “Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong.”

Trump in another part said, “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.” He also said, “You should want to have an accurate election. And you’re a Republican.”

Raffensperger replied, “We believe that we do have an accurate election.” Trump responded, “No, no you don’t. …Not even close. You’re off by hundreds of thousands of votes.”

During call the President is also heard falsely claiming that state votes were scanned three times. Rejecting the allegation Raffensperger said, “We did an audit of that and we proved conclusively that they were not scanned three times.”

White House has declined to comment on the exchange as of now.

Raffensperger has consistently rejected Trump’s claims of rigged elections. The Republican has overseen three separate votes recounts and many other reviews in the complete process.

Amid strong criticism over President’s call to Raffensperger, Biden’s senior adviser, Bob Bauer said, “We now have irrefutable proof of a president pressuring and threatening an official of his own party to get him to rescind a state’s lawful, certified vote count and fabricate another in its place.”

The call highlights the extraordinary limits to which Trump and his allies are willing to reach to alter the elections that he has clearly lost in a free and fair democratically held presidential election. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has took on this opportunity to call on the Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas that he and GOP allies must investigate President of his consistent actions.
