  • 1 team from the USA (because the championship will be hosted in the USA).

Most teams qualify for the competition through the performance of their regional championships. While some get in based on their performance in the last few years for those who keep heaving up there and rising.

Which Teams Are Already In?

Of these, 30 of the 32 teams are automatically qualified for the event. Some famous names you might know are:

Group Stage: There are 32 teams to qualify for the tournament and will be divided into 8 categories of 4 teams each. Every one of the teams has to play all the other teams in that particular group just once. The teams that finished in the top two places within a specific group advance to the next level.

Knockout Stage: Initially, there are 16 teams involved in each of which the particular match is a knockout one. The winners continue to the last stage and that is the final team – the champion!
