The Super Bowl LVIII will always be remembered. On Sunday, February 11, the Kansas City Chiefs hosted the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, and they emerged triumphant to win back-to-back titles. On February 11, 2024, Super Bowl LVIII took place at Allegiant Stadium, cementing the Kansas City Chiefs’ legacy. The game moved to a back-and-forth format when the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers failed to score in the first quarter. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs were leading 13–10 going into the fourth quarter, thanks to a game-winning 16-yard Marquez Valdes–Scantling receiving touchdown.
The teams maintained their close play into the fourth quarter. Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce took over after Jake Moody’s 53-yard field goal with less than two minutes left in regulation, putting San Francisco ahead 19-16.
Harrison Butker’s 29-yard field goal tied the score after Kelce’s 22-yard catch. For the second time in Super Bowl history, overtime was played when the score was tied at 19-19 with no time remaining in the fourth quarter.
On February 12, 2023, State Farm Stadium in Arizona hosted Super Bowl LVII. The Kansas City Chiefs, behind a spectacular effort from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, upset the Philadelphia Eagles 38–35.
For the Chiefs, this was their second Super Bowl victory in as many seasons. Mahomes reaggravated an ankle sprain he had sustained three weeks prior after being hit to the ground by linebacker T.J. Edwards late in the first half of the game. The Eagles seized a 24–14 lead as Mahomes hobbled to the sideline. NFL fans, however, will be discussing Super Bowl LVII for years to come because of what transpired in the second half.
At Super Bowl LVI, many noteworthy firsts were accomplished. Super Bowl LVI, which took place in SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on February 13, 2022, was the first Big Game to be held in Los Angeles since 1993.
The Rams, who defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23–20, won their first Super Bowl since moving to Los Angeles. Furthermore, Rams head coach Sean McVay, at 36, became the youngest head coach in history to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in his second Super Bowl appearance. In addition, this was the second championship game a club has played at a home stadium in Super Bowl history.
At Tampa, Florida’s Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Super Bowl LV took place on February 7, 2021. The host team defeated the 2020 champion Kansas City Chiefs 31–9, giving the Buccaneers their second Vince Lombardi Trophy in as many championship game appearances.
In addition, Bruce Arians of Tampa Bay, who is 68 years old, became the oldest head coach to win a Super Bowl. This was the first championship game a team has played its home stadium in Super Bowl history. In addition, it was quarterback Tom Brady of the Buccaneers’ seventh Super Bowl triumph, which gave him the record, and his first championship win away from the New England Patriots.
On February 2, 2020, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, by a score of 31–20. With fewer than seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs, who had previously overcome a 10-point deficit against Tennessee in the AFC Championship Game and a 24-0 deficit against the Texans in the divisional round, rallied to win once again.

The Chiefs won their first Super Bowl since the AFL-NFL merger and their first in fifty years.
The New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13–3 on February 3, 2019, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, in a defensive-minded Super Bowl LIII. The score of the Super Bowl was the lowest in its history. As the fourth quarter got underway, the Patriots and Rams were tied 3–3. After that, New England scored ten goals without reply to win. Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman of the Patriots was awarded after he caught 10 receptions for 141 yards.
The third Super Bowl to be staged in Atlanta was Super Bowl LIII, the first to be held in the stadium. By winning their sixth Super Bowl title, the Patriots tied the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most all-time. The Patriots were making their fourth trip to the Super Bowl in five years, and their ninth overall with quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick in charge.

After starting quarterback Carson Wentz was out early in the season due to injury, Nick Foles filled in, passing for 373 yards and three touchdowns to win the MVP award in the Super Bowl. Additionally, he scored a touchdown on a deceptive move that turned into the game’s defining play and gave him the moniker “The Philly Special”.
The New England Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34–28 to start the season on a high note. Super Bowl LI took place on February 5, 2018, at Houston’s NRG Stadium. The Patriots had a difficult start, trailing the Falcons by 25 points at the halfway point. The Patriots prevailed in overtime after a thrilling fourth quarter, winning 34–28. The Patriots’ 25-point comeback set a record for the largest Super Bowl comeback ever, and it was the first Super Bowl to end in overtime.
The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers 24–10 to claim the win. At Santa Clara, California’s Levi’s Stadium on February 7, 2016, the title was decided. With a 15–1 regular-season record going into the game, the Panthers were making their second trip to the Super Bowl. The Broncos had a 12–4 regular-season record and qualified for the Bowl. The Broncos never trailed during the game after taking an early lead.
On February 1, 2015, the New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28–24. After winning, the Patriots claimed their fourth Super Bowl title, which was held at Glendale, Arizona’s University of Phoenix Stadium. The Seahawks, who shared a 12–4 record with the Patriots, had a successful regular season. At halftime, the scores were knotted, 14 each. By the end of the third quarter, the Seahawks had increased their lead by ten points. The Patriots nearly won the game; with two minutes remaining, they had a 28–24 lead.
