Euro 2024
The UEFA European Football Championship 2024 has started with a bang in the host country Germany. Football fans are chanting their country’s names as they make their way to the stands. The best of European football has begun from 14th June and will continue till the 14th of July bringing to you the action packed mesmerising beauty of the game.
Germany hosting this time has committed to spread the game by appointing seven former professional footballers as German Football Ambassadors. Starting from Steffi Jones, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Arne Friedrich to Gerald Asamoah, Jimmy Hartwig, and Miroslav Klose these were the iconic players who were approached by Germany’s Foreign Minister Baerbock and one referee Bibiana Steinhaus Webb.
Venues Selected for Hosting the Games;
The matches would be played over 10 spectacular venues starting from Munich, Dortmund, Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg to Leipzig, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, and Stuttgart.
The tournament will see the whole of Europe battling it out in the football fields. Although host nation Germany are the favourites for obvious reasons, other teams like Portugal, England, Spain, Italy and France would be giving a serious competition to the home team.
With players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kroos,Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, Kylian Mbappe, Antoino Griezmann, Erling Haaland, Pogba, Rodri, Carvajal present in the games are going to be filled with nail biting moments from the kick off to the final whistle.
There are going to be a total of 24 teams participating in the Euro 2024 with 47 matches played in total or it can exceed too. The group stage games would be starting from 14th June continuing to June 26. After that the Round of 16 would start sending back 8 teams back home and continuing with the rest till the 2nd of July. Quarterfinals will be held on July 5th and 6th respectively while Semis would be on 9th and 10th of July. The Final will be held on 14th July at the Olympiastadion Berlin Stadium in Berlin.
