‘The Boys’ actress Erin Moriarty is diagnosed with Graves Disease: Insists to ‘listen to your bodies’

Annie the superhero also takes a break from the hustle as the actress playing the infamous role Erin Moriarty comes clean of her Graves Disease diagnosis in her instagram. The actress who keeps her instagram feed busy and bubbling with several photos of her, her castmates and occurrences also shared about the diagnosis with personal and vulnerable messages too.

Erin Moriarty also urges people to pay attention to the small alarms going off in their bodies , especially when in pain and not to be lethargic. The post read, “Autoimmune disease manifests differently in everybody/every body. Your experience will be different from mine. My experience will be different from yours. Perhaps greatly, perhaps minutely.”

Erin Moriarty

One of the most watched and highly celebrated series online is the satirical superhero drama ‘The Boys’ which after a couple of seasons has outgrown the name. Assumedly actors involved are also working hard with the growth, the demands and everything will be prioritised.

Sharing her initial reactions to the diagnosis, “One thing I can say: if I hadn’t chalked it all up to stress and fatigue, I would’ve caught this sooner. A month ago, I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease. Within 24 hours of beginning treatment, I felt the light coming back on. It’s been increasing in strength ever since.”

Annie, Moriarty’s character in ‘The Boys’ who inevitably left The Seven and joined the boys for the cause is yet to confirm her presence in the fifth season of the Amazon series. Her vulnerable talk about the autoimmune disease which is commonly seen in people below 40 and leads to hyperthyroidism is commendable. She also has received support in the comments from her co-star Susan Heyward and has also urged people to listen to their bodies and not ‘suck it up and transcend the suffering’.
