Elon Musk Forces Ramaswamy's Exit from DOGE Over Political Tensions? Know Everything
After 69 days of leadership at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Vivek Ramaswamy resigned his position at the request of co-leader Elon Musk. After sharing a controversial comment about H-1B visas on social media Ramaswamy resigned from DOGE under strong Republican backlash.
People familiar with Ramaswamy’s situation say he had to leave early because of news that he plans to run for Ohio governor and he’ll announce his campaign next week. Through spokesperson Anna Kelly Trump’s team acknowledged Ramaswamy’s work but also confirmed that his gubernatorial aspirations violated DOGE membership standards. Although Ramaswamy tried to maintain good publicity his team indicated that he had dropped DOGE responsibilities after December 4.
Current political staff in Speaker Mike Johnson’s office use online jokes to mark Vivek Ramaswamy’s departure from the organization. Trump follows his plans to reduce costs at DOGE without speaking about Ramaswamy’s departure. The department now enters an important transformation stage under Elon Musk’s full leadership while continuing its drive to boost efficiency.
