Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has allegedly bought several luxury homes in Austin, Texas, for $35m with a view to building a compound for his family. Tesla’s CEO’s grand plan entails a 1,440 square metre Tuscan-style villa and a six-bedroom home, as well as a third house nearby. The billionaire, who has been an outspoken advocate for fighting depopulation, went to great lengths to keep his identity secret, including making sellers sign nondisclosure agreements and paying as much as 70% above market value for the property.
Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, who has three children through IVF with Musk, has already moved into the compound. But, Canadian singer Grimes, Claire Boucher, with whom Musk has three children, left their former home in Austin after hearing Musk’s affair with Zilis. Things got even worse when it was revealed that Musk generously provided sperm to Zilis without Grimes’s consent; the couple had just weeks-old twins before Grimes’s surrogate-carried child.
His children’s mother, Justine Musk, with whom he has five children including his estranged transgender child, Vivian, has not taken up residence in the compound. Family turmoil was taken to another level by a disagreement on the choice of the name of their daughters where both Zilis and Grimes had to give their daughters the name Valkyrie, only for Zilis to change the name and this, Grimes had this to say.
While facing difficulties and issues connected with child custody, Musk is still working toward his goal of making a common living environment for the children. This goal is well supported by the acquisitions made by the Tesla CEO who has made all his properties within close proximity to each other. This idea corresponds with his public stance regarding how he is attempting to solve the problem of population decrease, but his methods remain questionable; he donated sperm to people he knows, such as Shanahan, the ex-wife to Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
