Donald Trump Contempt for Violating Gag Order in Hush Money Trial

Today America’s most anticipated trial Trump Hush Money trial resumes in a Manhattan courtroom.

Prosecutors initially began arguing that the judge should convict former President Donald Trump again in criminal contempt — for violating a gag order.

The hearing is centered on recent statements made by Donald Trump in front of media and reporters.

Recently Trump made a statement for his former lawyer Michael Cohen. He said Cohen is a key figure and probable witness in the trial — as “a convicted liar.” Cohen admitted guilt in 2018 for lying to Congress about a project aimed at constructing a Trump Tower in Moscow.

Trump’s complaint from the beginning of the trial was that the jury was filled only with Democrats; Republicans were not asked for affiliation during the formation of this jury.

Trump is in contempt for nine violations of criticism of witnesses and jurors. This is declared by Judge Juan Merchan. He also fined Trump of $9,000. Merchan warned Trump that if he repeats this kind of act, he could be jailed too.

Let us tell you that all the violations are done from the posts on social media accounts and his campaign website of Donald Trump.

Chris Conroy told to judge, “He’s already been found to have violated the gag order nine times, and he’s done it again here.”

The prosecutor said, “Because we prefer to minimize disruptions to this proceeding, we are not yet seeking jail.”

Todd Blanche the attorney of Trump tried to defend Trump in an online commentary case. He said that he should be able to respond to criticism. He said the political campaign is a part of interviews too.

He highlighted President Joe Biden’s joke during a White House dinner in which he said Trump was experiencing “stormy weather.”

On this statement, Judge replied that Joe Biden is not bound by gag orders.

But in between the ongoing debates, Trump claimed that gag order is “unconstitutional”. He said he is a Republican nominee for the upcoming election of 2024, so it is important to express himself in front of the media. He should be able to do it.

Blanche also said in a complaining tone “Everybody can say whatever they want, except for President Trump.”
