Detroit Rapper Skilla Baby Recovering After Redford Township Shooting

After a shooting in Redford Township on Thursday, Skilla Baby, whose real name is Trevon Garner, is now in recovery. On 8 Mile Road close to Beech Daly, officers arrived at the crash scene of a building that was damaged. Media reports say the rapper was injured in the arm and head, but it is likely he will live. Investigating authorities are working on the case, finding some evidence that he could have been targeted. Many are concerned and are supporting the artist as he begins to get better.

Shooting Incident on 8 Mile Road

Emergency calls about gunfire and a crash led police to arrive in Redford Township. At the scene, first responders saw that part of the business wall was smashed and that patrol tape had been set up around it. The shooting happened as Skilla Baby was driving alone on a crowded stretch of 8 Mile Road. No one is sure what happened right before the shooting. But a person familiar with the situation thinks this may be because the rapper was deliberately targeted.

The rising Detroit artist Skilla Baby was shot in both the hand and the head. Despite his serious injuries, doctors think he will recover completely. Authorities have shared no information about suspects and are still gathering evidence.

Community Response and Ongoing Investigation

The local music scene has come together for Skilla Baby, standing by him and hoping he heals fast. In Detroit, Skilla Baby is recognized for his real lyrics and for working with top Ottawa artists. Many of his fans have taken to social media, expressing concern for local artists and hoping justice will prevail.

Redford Township police are asking for help from anyone who saw the shooting or has video that might help identify the suspect. Police have yet to make any arrests, as the inquiry continues. The situation is one more reason to worry about violence against public figures in Detroit.
