Coco Gauff threw to the French Open Semi Finals! Beats Madison Keys

Coco Gauff and Madison Keys locked horns on Wednesday in the exciting Quarter Final match at the Roland Garros. Gauff, the 2023 US Open Champion, flexed her win after a scrambling game which ended 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-1 in favor of the 21- year old.

The two Americans gave their all to crawl under the faults to reach a spot in the Semi Finals at Court Philippe-Chatrier. Coco Gauff found the essence of it who turned the 4-1 deficit to a forced set point at 5-4 in the first set. The World No. 2 then couldn’t turn the tie break into a set point while Keys won the first set.

Second set had Keys lose heavily early with Gauff securing 4-1, leading to a breakpoint that was ultimately won over by Gauff, taking the match to a third set, the decider. Third set saw Gauff getting control over her serve, after committing multiple errors in the previous ones. The victory finally reached her after 2 Hours 11 minutes.

“Maddie was playing well, she’s hitting the ball so fast and so low so I was just trying to fight for each point. I knew I had to be able to run today and as soon as the ball came short, punish her for it”, said Gauff who is reaching her third Semi-final in the French Open after her 2022 runner up title and last year’s doubles champion.

Gauff will set out to play in the second Quarter Finals and will face the winners of the game between Mirra Andreeva and the local hope Loïs Boisson.
