Career Opportunities at Richland County Jail – Attend the October 25 Job Fair

If you’re a young individual above the age of 21 years and looking for a new job or a job change in Columbia, Richland County’s Alvin S. The Glen Detention Center (ASGDC) is hiring and offering attractive benefits. New hires are eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus, with an additional $5,000 awarded after one year of service.

Those interested in working in public safety are invited to attend a job fair on Friday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 201 John Mark Dial Drive in Columbia. This event provides an opportunity to meet the ASGDC staff, tour the facility, and have your questions answered.

The Detention Center is inviting applications from those who wish to ensure public and institutional safety while providing high quality service. The vacant posts for recruitment include:

Detention OfficerThis person will be responsible for the safety of staff and inmates, supervising inmate activities, and performing corrections-related duties.
Summary Court Law ClerkSupports Court Administration through clerical duties, maintaining case files, and assisting in courtroom operations.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be at least 21 years old and should bring a resume, high school diploma or GED, and a valid South Carolina driver’s license to the job fair. You can also pre-apply online via the County’s website.
