callum turner and dua lipa bring back retro travelling fashion (1)
On Tuesday love birds Dua Lipa along with her boyfriend Callum Turner were snapped at London’s St, Pancras Station returning from their trip to Paris.
The coupe was seen in a similar fashion style wearing leathering jackets which portrays a nostalgic feeling and retro fashion sense.
Dua Lipa was seen wearing checkerboard claw clutches, and a Hermes Twilly scarf and was carrying a black Hermes bag with many keychains. Dua Lipa’s fashion sense was inspired by famous fashion icon Jane Birkin who was famous for her unique style.
Callum Turner was seen wearing a brown leather jacket and was carrying a silver-coloured Rimowa cabin case covered with funky stickers.
The couple’s dressing sense was giving the feels of the 1960’s. However, Dua Lipa’s hair colors and sneakers gave her dressing sense a little modern touch also.
The patches on the cabin case of Turner were inspired by the travel era of the 1900s. These patches used to be given by luxurious hotels including Hotel Europa in Costa Rica, Italy, and Hotel Sole in Palermo. These patches were very famous during that time. The patches were used to advertise for free for the hotels and also to portray that the traveler has stayed in a fancy and luxurious hotel.
In 1971 New York Times wrote, “In this period of nostalgia …..I say bring back the stickers for traveling” implying that colorful and fancy stickers are crucial for bringing back memories and helping an individual to look unique. Famous Fashion icon Birkin herself said, “ There is no fun in carrying a bag if it’s not kicked around”. She also told Vogue that she loves to put beads and stickers on her bags. She mentioned, “ You can get these stickers from Israel, Palestine, and Greece. I always put stickers on my bag because I don’t want my bags to look like other people’s stuff”.
However, Dua Lipa is following Birkin when it comes to carrying quirky bag charms. She has been collecting fancy bag charms since November.
