Los Angeles is home to over 10 million people. This beautiful nation is on high alert as Santa Ana winds warning. This will bring air of up to 70 mph which would worsen the wildfire situation. Authorities have issued evacuation warnings. They asked residents to be ready to leave at any moment after quick notice.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has called the situation a “particularly dangerous” one, as the fires have already claimed 24 lives and destroyed over 12,300 structures. Approximately 100,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes.
The Palisades Fire now covering 37 square miles is only 14% contained. Meanwhile, the Eaton Fire is 33% contained. With powerful winds, flames are getting larger. And it is creating fears in officials that the fires could spread further and it will be very risky of residents.
Governor Newsom already stated that this is the worst fire in U.S. history. According to reports these fires have caused damage of around $150 billion, and Hollywood celebrities also lost their homes. As the fires continue to rage now authorities are asking residents are urged to stay alert and follow evacuation orders.
