Breaking News: Dangerous Windstorm Hits Southern California, Raises Wildfire Risks

A powerful windstorm described by forecasters as potentially destructive and life-threatening is sweeping across Southern California. The storm has significantly increased the risk of wildfires in the region, with officials warning of dangerous conditions for the next several days.

Firefighters are battling a wildfire in the foothills of Pacific Palisades. It is a coastal region neighborhood in Los Angeles. Another brush fire broke out in the evening in the Eaton Canyon area near Altadena, forcing mandatory evacuations for residents.

The National Weather Service has issued warnings about strong winds beginning Tuesday afternoon. The winds are expected to impact Los Angeles and Ventura counties, peaking early Wednesday morning. Gusts could reach up to 80 mph in some areas, with isolated gusts topping 100 mph in the mountains and foothills.
