Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to re-release on the big screen again! Here’s the release date

The theatrical re-release of the 2013 biographical drama ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ is scheduled for 18 July 2025. PVR-INOX has revealed the re-release of the iconic biography that is based on athlete Milkha Singh.

‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor will be released on selected screens on 18 July across the country. The re-release hits the screen after over a decade of the original, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

The movie is an ode to the sheer grit and inspiring story of athlete Milkha Singh, who underwent a rigorous physical and mental preparation to achieve the 400 metres Gold at the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games in 1958 and 1962. ‘The Flying Sikh’ also represented India in the 1960 and 1964 Summer Olympics held in Rome and Tokyo.

“Portraying Milkha Singh was both an honour and a responsibility. I’m grateful that audiences will get the chance to experience the film once again on the big screen, where its emotion and spirit truly come alive,” Farhan Akhtar said of his role as the titular character. The film follows the journey of Singh’s time and aftermath of the partition and his love for sprint in international grounds.
