Apple has announced a big investment of $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years. This can lead to massive job creation in the state. According to the news, it will create over 20,000 new jobs and it will help in expanding its operations across nine states. The tech giant also plans to open a 23,200-square-meter server manufacturing facility in Texas by 2026.
The announcement came just days after Apple CEO Tim Cook met with President Donald Trump. Cook stated, “We’re bullish on the future of American innovation and excited to expand our investments.”
Apple is planning to reduce its dependency on international supply chains, as trade tension hits its businesses deadly. Most Apple products are currently assembled overseas, but the company is working to increase U.S.-based production.
Trump praised Apple’s decision, calling it a “record investment” in America.
Reports suggest that teams and facilities expand in Michigan, Texas, California, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, Oregon, North Carolina, and Washington. Plans include a new factory in Texas, doubling the U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund, a manufacturing academy, and accelerated investments in AI and silicon engineering.
