al kaabi voices uaes 130m aid amp ceasefire appeal for lebanon in paris
The UAE Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi led delegation of UAE at the International Conference in Support of Lebanon in Paris. This meeting was organized by the French President. The event was attended by 70 countries, the UN, the EU, and several international and regional organizations also actively participated in it.
Al Kaabi expressed the concern of UAE over bad situation of Lebanon. She highlighted the strong support of UAE for the unity of Lebanon. She called on the international community to work towards a ceasefire and prevent further loss of life. Al Kaabi also urged action to address humanitarian crisis which has displaced 1.4 million people in Lebanon.
President of UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has also expressed their clear stand, they already announced $100 million in aid to Lebanon and an also an additional aid of $30 million for Lebanese refugees in Syria.
In an another announcement UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also initiated food aid for Lebanon through the MBRGI initiative. According to the several news websites and reports, the UAE has sent 14 planes with medical, food, and shelter supplies as part of the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign. Official website WAM also confirmed the news.
During the meeting in Paris, a representative of UAE, Al Kaabi also condemned Israeli actions violating UN resolutions and targeting UN peacekeepers in Lebanon. She reiterated the UAE’s call for all parties to protect civilians and support peace in the region.
