adnoc's energyai set to transform energy sector efficiency and sustainability
Energy giant ADNOC announced on Monday a new three-year partnership with AIQ to bring ENERGYai—a custom-built artificial intelligence (AI) system—into its operations. Developed by AIQ with support from G42 and Microsoft, this AI solution is designed to improve decision-making and boost efficiency across ADNOC’s activities.
So, after this announcement reuters reported; “The UAE, a wealthy oil producer and longtime security partner of the U.S., is hoping for greater access to American technology to build its own advanced tech industry.”
Economic Middle East , a X handle, shared a video on their platform, by writing a caption; “H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, #UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology (@MoIATUAE) and @ADNOCGroup managing director and group CEO, rallied the energy industry to lead the world to the next phase of sustainable socioeconomic growth during a keynote address at the opening ceremony of @ADIPECOfficial 2024.
Using data from ADNOC’s 80-year history ENERGYai will be tested on real-world data starting in late 2024. The system combines advanced large language model (LLM) technology with specialized ‘agentic’ AI, targeting specific tasks within ADNOC’s operations. This technology will assist in everything from seismic analysis to real-time process monitoring and energy efficiency.
ADNOC posted on his official X platform, “In his opening address at ADIPEC 2024, our MD and GCEO Dr Sultan Al Jaber called for the energy industry to lead the world into the next phase of sustainable growth.”
ENERGYai is expected to speed up the development of complex geological models by 75%, enabling faster planning for CO2 storage solutions. In some cases, it could reduce project timelines from years to mere weeks, helping ADNOC save on costs and lower emissions.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC’s CEO said that ENERGYai will help future-proof the company and solidify ADNOC’s commitment to secure and sustainable energy.
As reported by UAE’s news website Zawya, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said, “As AI accelerates the pace of progress and transforms industries, ENERGYai will help future-proof ADNOC, reinforce our position at the forefront of AI deployment and ensure we continue to provide secure and sustainable energy to the world.”
