‘A Minecraft Movie’ Collects $720 Million – Will it become the First Billion Dollar Movie of the Year?

‘A Minecraft Movie’ that was released 20 days back has now surpassed $720 Million in Global Box Office Collection. Starring Jason Mamoa and Jack Black, the Jared Hess PG movie is a full on treat for the fans and audience that not only pulls the characters into the world of Minecraft but also the audience.

The blockbuster movie has added over $100 Million Globally through the Easter Weekend and in total, ‘A Minecraft Movie’ has generated $720.3 Million in Global Collection. With the holiday crowd hitting the screens and much more thanks to the social media footage releases and audience reactions, especially of a baby zombie riding a chicken, the movie is running faster and stronger.

On its Third week of release, the video game based movie attracted flocks of audience into the theatres and culminated $59 Million in the international market. Opened at Number 1, ‘A Minecraft Movie’ found a dip in its success streak from another Warner Bros. Pictures project directed by Ryan Cooglar ‘Sinners’ that had a massive opening weekend collection of $45.6 Million, slightly weakening the pace for the videogame film.

Directed by Jared Hess, ‘A Minecraft Movie’ was released on 4 April, 2025 and has other familiar faces like Emma Myers of ‘A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder’, Jennifer Coolidge of ‘White Lotus’, Danielle Brooks of ‘The Colour Purple’ and many others. Lucky for the big distributors, Warner Bros. Pictures are trending at Number 1 and 2 with the success of both their April releases.

At this rate, ‘A Minecraft Movie’ is the current highest grossing Hollywood movie of 2025, with only a matter of weeks to hit the $ 1B mark and starting the Billion Dollar Club for the year.
