Elon Musk has not been left behind in predicting the future of cars to be 99% electric and self-driven hence the end for cars with gas engines. Musk recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) compared the usage of gasoline cars to the use of flip phones with the former being outdated. This visionary change coincides well with other trends regarding electric vehicles, also known as EVs, taking over the world auto market.
Interest in EVs is growing steadily all over the world, as recently revealed by the latest Global EV Driver Survey, where overall satisfaction levels with EVs stood at 97% and above. An insignificant number of consumers who bought EVs for the first time returned to using traditional gasoline vehicles after the purchase. Petter Haugneland, Assistant Secretary General of The Norwegian EV Association, dismissed fears of a reduced demand for EVs, as exaggerated.
The low operating cost is one of the reasons, that make car owners more and more interested in EVs. Ellen Hiep from the Dutch Electric Vehicle Drivers Association explains that affordability is still key to the growth of EVs and reduction and emissions. They pointed out the need to depict affordability as one of the most important factors that should be considered for the establishment of a sustainable automotive market to support policymaking.
The Global EV Driver Survey covered 18 countries including Norway, the Netherlands, India, and the USA. What it discovers points to a 92% satisfaction rate, a figure that shows that most owners are willing to buy another electric vehicle. Toward these ends, policymakers and manufacturers have begun to pay attention to these trends and devise cheaper solutions for consumption on a large scale.
The campaign for cheap EVs is crucial to the objective of eliminating gasoline automobiles from the market. 99% of drivers are ready to move to electric and autonomous transportation, marking a revolutionary change in the transport industry.
