Dubai Cares and COP28 UAE Presidency promote education’s climate action
The incoming Presidency of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Dubai Cares have agreed to collaborate on a suite of climate education outcomes in conjunction with COP28, which will be held at Expo City Dubai from 30 November to 12 December 2023.
This year, Dubai Cares will hold the second edition of the RewirEd Conference, the global education cooperation platform, alongside the global climate summit, which will focus on climate action education and methods. Dubai Cares will also lead a global preparatory process between now and the summit to mobilize public and private players around innovative policy, financial, and technology outcomes that educate learners for the net-zero economy and improve education sector accessibility and resiliency.
The announcement was made in the presence of Majid Al Suwaidi, Director-General of COP28, and Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman of Dubai Cares, during the 2023 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
